I’ve recently given some thought to what part of being a hypnotist I like most. It’s come down to helping people quit smoking.

True confession time: I smoked for about 15 years and this was during my career as a hypnotist. As a result I know the excuses I made to keep smoking and it slowly ate away at me and made me feel about myself. I quit smoking several time and, like a lot of smokers, I returned to it again and again. Finally, FINALLY I figured out what I out what it took for me to be a non-smoker for good. Here is what worked for me:

I liked feeling good about myself as a non-smoker more than I liked smoking a cigarette. In other words, every day I didn’t smoke I felt better and better about myself as a person. Self Esteem and self worth are so much more valuable than any pleasure I could get from smoking.
